Sara is a Belgian-TB cross, a large and muscular eating machine. Sara came to TGC because trying to jump this big girl blew out her right hock. Things were proceeding, while weak that hock was improving, and then in 2004 I screwed up and fed Sara some hay that included a little rainrotted material and presto, she foundered!  Its been a long road back.  Draft feet are prone enough to abscess without founder added in.  Below are pictures of Sara, carrying little Sierra, her first time under saddle since 2004.

She doesn't like the bit - but got better as her 20-25 minute walking session continued.

They're getting along well.

She's still got it!

She's tired.  Only 20-25 minultes of walking, but she's been on a diet this summer too, so this was a big deal.  We're hoping to get her fit enough to give her Sponsor, Margaret Squires, a little ride when Margaret visits in January.  Thanks are due to Sierra too!
